My research combines qualitative fieldwork and causal inference to explore how laws and institutions affect access to protection, naturalization, and integration across immigrant groups. I am on the 2025-2026 job market.
I hold a BA in Philosophy from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (Mexico), a BA in Global Studies from Pompeu Fabra University (Spain), and a double-degree MA in Immigration Studies from Pompeu Fabra University and the University of Liège. I was also a visiting PhD researcher at University College London.
In Fall 2025, I will be a visiting fellow with the nccr – on the move at the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland), working on a new project on the political mobilization of refugees, as part of the HUMANCIT research initiative.
